Hathurusingha Most likely to take over as Sri Lanka Coach

  Former Sri Lanka player Chandika Hathurusingha, who is currently the head Coach of Bangladesh, is most likely to take over as next Sri Lanka Coach, Cricket Age learns.

“Negotiation are going on with Chandika also. Though there are few others, most notably Dean Jones and Jason Gillespie, Chandika is the most likely to take over if everything goes well “ A Top SLC official told Cricket Age.

Hathurusingha has played 26 tests and 35 ODI’s for Sri Lanka. But it is his credentials as a Coach, which puts him in the top bracket in the world cricket. He is universally well-Known as a innovative and forward Thinking Coach. He has associated as a Shadow Coach with Sri Lanka team, during Kumar Sangakkara tenure as the captain. During that time Sangakkara pleaded to SLC to hire Hathurusingha as a head coach. At that time, Sangakkara hailed him as a Big Asset for Sri Lanka cricket, who could have move forward the team to a new era.

Under his supervision, Bangladesh has become one of the most competitive team in the world, especially on their home soil. He brought fearless thinking in the Bangladesh team, particular into youngsters. And results were fruitful, as during his tenure Bangladesh have produced world class players like Mistafizur Rehman.

The SLC is expected to finalize the Coach by January 2018.
