Mathews or Chandimal to be named limited-overs captain?

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) says it will announce the national cricket team’s limited-overs captain on the 09th January, 2018.
This was decided following a discussion held yesterday (03) at Sri Lanka Cricket, over the appointment of a white-ball captain to lead the Sri Lankan side into the future.
SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala, Vice President In-charge of International Cricket K. Mathivanan, CEO Ashley De Silva, Chairman of the National Selection Panel Graeme Labrooy, Sri Lanka Cricket Manager Asanka Gurusinha and the Head Coach of the team Chandika Hathurusinghe was present at the meeting.
“During the discussion, the Chairman of selectors informed me that they are considering appointing either Angelo Mathews or Dinesh Chandimal to fill the role,” said Sumathipala.
