Opening the 1st innings with bat, Sri Lanka managed to score 222 by losing all wickets in their first innings against Bangladesh in the 2nd match of a two-Test series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday.

Abdur Razzak and Taijul Islam bag four wickets respectively for Bangladesh.

Coming in to open, Dimuth Karunaratne once again got off to a bad start and was dismissed by Abdur Razzaq for 3.

Kusal Mendis and Dhanjaya de Silva tried to stitch a partnership before Taijul Islam dismissed de Silva for 19 runs. Mendis, who batted along with Gunathilaka, completed his half century in the first session.

Razzaq came back strongly just before Lunch to take 2 wickets in 2 balls as he dismissed Gunathilaka for 13 and skipper Dinesh Chandimal for a golden ball duck. Razzaq struck again immediately after Lunch dismissing the dangerous Kusal Mendis for 68 after which Islam dismissed Niroshan Dickwella in the next over.

Roshen Silva and Dilruwan Perera stitched a 52-run partnership but Islam dismissed Perer for 31. Akila Dananjaya and Roshen Silva took Sri Lanka’s total over 200.
