Ahmedabad, (PTI): Rajasthan Royals batsman Yusuf Pathan today accused Andrew Symonds of sledging him during an Indian Premier League match here and said the Australian’s behaviour made him more determined to go for big shots against Deccan Chargers bowlers here Friday.

Yusuf smashed Deccan bowlers to all parts of the ground to score a quickfire unbeaten 74 to power Rajasthan to an eight-wicket win over the Hyderabadside.

Soon after guiding his side home, Yusuf said Deccan Chargers’ all-rounder Symonds sledged him while he came out to bat.

“It inspires you makes you more determined when an opposition player sledges you. When I went in to bat today, Symonds exchanged a few words and it made me more determined to score runs,” Yusuf said after the match.

During his 34-ball unbeaten innings, Yusuf’s big hitting skills were on full display as he hit as many as eight sixes and two fours.
