VIDEO: Army act amendment a political stunt – Maithripala

Wijedasa Rajapaksa’s proposed amendment to the Army act is a political stunt for mere mileage, SLFP General Secretary Maithripala Sirisena said at a press conference today. He added that Wijeydasa being a lawyer himself should have known that the April 6th parliament session will be held only to pass emergency.

 

 

Hence Sirisena claims that such an amendment could not be debated on April 6th. He also stated that the JVP is against such an amendment to the Army Act.
