Asian Games 2018: Sri Lanka reach Rugby Sevens semi-finals

Sri Lanka defeated China 17 – 12 on Friday to qualify for the Rugby Sevens men’s semi-final match of the Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia.
Sudam Parinda Suriyaarachchi, Anuradha Srinath Rankothgedara and Thuwan Reezas Raffaideen cored a try each for the Lankans.
Earlier in the day the Tuskers had progressed to the quarter-finals with a 36-0 win over Afghanistan with Sudam Sureyaarachchi scoring two of their tries.
In the other quarterfinal matches Japan defeated Chinese Taipei (43 - 0), South Korea beat Malaysia (40 - 5) while Hong Kong thrashed Thailand (52 - 0).
Sri Lanka will face Japan in the first semi-final on Saturday (September 1) and Korea will take on Hong Kong in the second semi at GBK - Rugby Field.
