Sprinter Yupun Abeykoon sets new record in Germany

Sri Lankan athlete Yupun Abeykoon set a new Sri Lanka National and South Asian record at an international tournament in Dessau, Germany.

He clocked 10.16 seconds to clinch the victory of 100m Men’s event, beating the previous record set by Himasha Eshan.

Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Namal Rajapaka tweeted a congratulatory message for the record-breaking sprinter.
