The processing of lands containing land mines and the resettlement of IDP’s are the main objectives of the government according to the Acting Finance Minister.
He informed the parliament that at the end of the war about 1.5 million landmines were found in 640 villages spanning in a radius of 1474 Square km of land and that 7000 million rupees has been spent to buy de-mining equipment.
