Consultation, assistance from India vital: DEW Gunasekera

Consultation with and assistance from India is vital for the success of reaching a final solution for the problems faced by the Tamils in Sri Lanka, Rehabilitation & Prison Reforms Minister D.E.W. Gunasekera is reported to have stated in Jaffna.

 

 

Attending the annual conference of the Communist Party, its leader and United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) National List Parliamentarian Don Edwin Weerasinghe Gunasekera has said that this was the first instance that the party’s annual conference has been held in Jaffna.

 

 

Seven university students who were undergoing detention in rehabilitation camps have been released through Mr. Gunasekera’s intervention, sources said.
