ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2021: Sri Lanka beat Pakistan to qualify for final

Sri Lanka Under-19 team today (December 30) qualified for the ODI Asia Cup final, beating Pakistan by 22 runs.

The Sri Lankan team won the toss opted to bat first in the semi-final match played at ICC Academy Ground, Dubai.

Traveen Mathew’s 4-fer and Dunith Nethmika’s 3-wicket haul helped Sri Lanka clinch the low-scoring thriller against Pakistan in the semi-finals.

With this win, Sri Lanka have booked themselves a finals berth of the U19 Asia Cup.

Meanwhile, Pakistan have been knocked out of the tournament having failed to chases 148 in 50 overs. They were reeling right from the start as they had lost three quick wickets early in the chase.

Pakistan needed 148 runs to make it to the sixth final in their bid to 3rd Asia Cup glory. They had been a formidable side in the tournament, winning all their three group stage fixtures, including India and it should have been a quick chase.

But Sri Lanka never gave them a chance despite getting bundled out for a mere 147.
