Mattakkuliya incident: 23 identified by witnesses

After a marathon identification parade held over seven days, 23 main suspects alleged to have taken part in the mob attack on the Mattakkuliya have been identified. They were identified by three witnesses to the incident.
Colombo Additional Lal Bandara Ranasinghe ordered that the identified suspects be remanded till 28 of this month.
The witnesses had not been able to identify another 12 suspects produced during the parade. Court ordered them to be released on Rs. 100,000 personal bail each.
