The UN doesn’t interfere unnecessarily to the affairs of their member countries, says Country Director of the UNDP, Douglas Keh. He made this statement at a special workshop for parliamentary journalists organized by the Parliamentary Journalist Association of Sri Lanka.
He also claims that UN is not a NGO but an international organization and that they stay in these countries because of the country’s needs. If their support is not needed, the UN will not stay, he added. He said that the only goal of the UN is the benefit of the public.
