Sri Lanka’s entertainment landscape is about to witness one of its most dynamic events yet as TV Derana, in collaboration with Closeup, presents the “Derana Closeup Colombo Music Festival 2025” — a two-day celebration of music, culture, and creativity.

Set to take place on October 25th and 26th at Viharamahadevi Park and the Colombo Lotus Tower, this festival marks Derana’s 20th Anniversary in a truly unforgettable way.

The festival kicks off with a vibrant lineup of masterclass sessions at Viharamahadevi Park, featuring some of the country’s most respected names in the entertainment and creative industries.

From Sound Engineering with Malinda Lowe, Music Production and Content Creation with Iraj, to DJ Masterclasses conducted by Ultra, Kyotto, Jadon Fonka, and Noice Generation, these sessions aim to empower aspiring musicians and creators through real industry insights.

Other interactive sessions include Sindu Katha with Kelum Srimal, Wasantha Dukgannaarala, Manuranga Wijesekara & Shehan Galahitiyawa; Thaala Rata with Aseka Wijewardena; Jamming to Die with Mihindu Ariyarathne, Lahiru Perera & Raini Charuka; Ape Paramparawa with Nuwandika Senarathna, Sana Raveen, Kanishka & Ravi Royster; Sing-Along with MG Dhanushka, Udesh Indula & Anjali Herath; Rap Corner with Fill T, KK & Amila Niroshan; and TikTok Pissuwa featuring Hastha Kalana, Nimna & Isuru.

October 25th: The Stars Take Over the Lotus Tower

The festival’s first night at the Colombo Lotus Tower will feature a powerful lineup of Sri Lanka’s most beloved artists, promising an evening of unforgettable performances.

The concert will bring together Sanuka, Yohani, Jaya Sri, Raini Charuka, Dinesh Gamage, Iraj, Lahiru Perera, Samitha, Raween Tharuka, and Ravi Royster, creating a truly iconic celebration of Sri Lankan music and artistry.

This concert is being held free of charge to celebrate Derana’s 20th anniversary and starts at 7.00 p.m. at the Colombo Lotus Tower premises.

October 26th: EDM Culture Takes the Spotlight

On October 26th, from 11 AM to 11 PM, the Lotus Tower will transform into an electrifying arena for the country’s first-ever EDM festival hosted by a media network.

The lineup features Ultra, Jayy Vibes, Kyotto, Vegaz, Noise Generation, Jadon Fonka, and Nicky — bringing together Sri Lanka’s finest electronic music acts for a full-day celebration of sound, energy, and rhythm.

This experience promises cutting-edge visuals, immersive production, and a festival atmosphere unlike anything seen before.

This marks the first time an EDM show is organized by a television channel in Sri Lanka. While the EDM show is organised by TV Derana, the event will not be recorded or televised; and therefore attendees can enjoy the music freely without advertisements or interruptions.

Ticket prices for the show are Rs. 4,000 (Phase 01), Rs. 5,000 (Phase 02), and Rs. 8,000 for VIP tickets, with early bird tickets already sold out. Tickets are available via spotseeker.lk.

TV Derana emphasizes that the festival aims to provide a unique and immersive experience for music lovers, highlighting that the EDM show will have no ads, no breaks, no TV recording, and no presenters.

The Derana Closeup Colombo Music Festival stands as a landmark celebration of 20 years of Derana, recognizing its commitment to entertainment innovation and cultural development.

From educational masterclasses in the park to massive live performances at the Lotus Tower, the festival bridges generations, genres, and creative communities — setting a new benchmark for Sri Lankan music festivals.

Registration details for the masterclasses are available on the TV Derana Facebook page or via the provided QR code.
