A commemoration ceremony to mark the 54th death anniversary of the late Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike was held today at the Bandaranaike Memorial Monument in Horagolla today (Sep. 26). Floral tributes were paid at the monument by former President Chandrika Kumaratunga Bandaranaike and Sunethra Bandaranaike, who are the daughters of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) founder. Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne, Senior Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake, Ministers Dinesh Gunawardena and Jeevan Kumaratunga paid floral tributes while former Army Chief and Democratic Party leader Sarath Fonseka also attended the ceremony.
