The Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe stated that today (Sep. 08) has been designated as a special day for the distribution of official polling cards, despite it being a weekend.

Issuing a special statement, Ranasinghe mentioned that the Department of Posts has dedicated today for door-to-door delivery of official polling cards from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Furthermore, he had urged residents to remain at home to collect their official polling cards, which require signatures for confirmation of receipt.

The Department of Posts said that the distribution of approximately 3 million official polling cards for the 2024 presidential election has been completed thus far.

The official polling card distribution process, which began on September 03, is expected to continue until September 14.
