Postal voting applications for General Election accepted from today

The applications for postal voting for the upcoming General Election will be accepted from today (01).

The Election Commission announced that the postal voting applications will be accepted until October 08.

The 2024 certified voter list will be used for the 2024 General Election to be held on November 14.

The Election Commission has announced that the 2024 voter lists for all electoral divisions across the island will be displayed from today for the convenience of the postal voters.

Accordingly, voter lists are to be displayed in all District Secretariats, all Divisional Secretariats, Grama Niladhari Offices and some other selected locations.

Postal voting applications can be obtained free of charge from places where the voter lists are displayed, at the District Election Offices, and can also be downloaded from the Election Commission’s website.

The Election Commission states that applications must be submitted to the District Returning Officer of the relevant district by October 08.
