VIDEO: Police recover knives from Kelaniya Uni hostel

Police have recovered sharp objects including a knife, empty liquor bottles from the Kelaniya University hostel after they went there to disperse an unlawful assembly of students who had gathered within the Kelaniya University under a court order.

Colombo Additional Magistrate, yesterday ordered Kelaniya Senior Superintendent of Police to disperse an unlawful assembly of students who had gathered within the Kelaniya University premises to cause a breach of peace.

Our reporter at the scene confirmed that the police had recovered the items and also had noted the damages caused to the buildings. However none of the students had been present at the time of the raid.
