Fire breaks out in a factory in Bingiriya

A fire has broken out in a factory located in Bingiriya this afternoon (03), police stated.

An explosion followed by a fire occurred at around 3:00 p.m., according to area residents, who also confirmed that two individuals sustained injuries in the incident.

The explosion had taken place at a location within the factory.
Police officers from Bingiriya arrived at the scene and have conducted preliminary investigations.

One of the injured individuals has been admitted to the Chilaw General Hospital.
