Govt. allocates Rs. 3.6 bln to expand SLTB long-distance bus fleet

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, presenting the 2026 Budget, announced plans to strengthen the public transportation sector by adding 600 buses to the long-distance service fleet operated by the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB).

A total of Rs. 3,600 million has been allocated for the initial implementation of this project, the President noted.
