The tech giant is getting in on the trend of people wearing their phones and tapping a luxury fashion brand for its latest collaboration. Apple plans to release this week a special-edition iPhone pocket designed in collaboration with the high-end Japanese brand Issey Miyake.

The tech giant said it and Issey Miyake share a mutual design approach that emphasizes simplicity. The accessory was inspired by the concept of a “piece of cloth,” Apple said on its website.

“iPhone Pocket explores the concept of ‘the joy of wearing iPhone in your own way,’“ Issey Miyake design director Yoshiyuki Miyamae said in a news release.

The pocket, which resembles a sock, comes in a variety of colors and two sizes: short or long. The $230 long version can be worn like a crossbody, and the $150 short pocket fits on your wrist or can be attached to a bag, as Apple demonstrated in photos.

This is Apple’s second dip into wearable iPhone fashion in 2025. When it released the new iPhone lineup in September, it dropped a crossbody creation alongside it for $59.

This Issey Miyake design, however, is a limited-edition accessory dropping November 14 online and in select stores around the world.

While it’s the first time these two brands have collaborated on a product, Apple has a history with Issey Miyake that dates back to the Steve Jobs era.

The late founder and CEO of Apple was known for his minimalist style, particularly during his famous Apple keynotes. Jobs often wore a black turtleneck and jeans onstage when he introduced innovative products like the iPhone and MacBook Air.

His iconic black turtlenecks were designed by designer Issey Miyake, who retired the shirts from his namesake clothing brand after Jobs’ death in 2011.
