Second suspect in LankaEnews attack arrested

Police has arrested another suspect involved in the burning of the LankaEnews office. The suspect, known as ‘Boothaya’ had been arrested at Beruwela yesterday (February 10) by police officers belonging to the Nugegoda Division, said Police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody.


The suspect was earlier today handed over to the Thalangama Police, who had produced him before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court. He was then ordered to placed in remand custody until February 15.


This is the second suspect to be apprehended by police in connection to the torching of the LankaEnews office at Malabe on January 31.
