I was mistaken - Azwer

Government Nationalist list MP A.H.M Azwer today apologized in Parliament for his baffling statement he made yesterday in parliament. Azwer stated that he mistakenly mentioned Vellupillai Prabakaran where he actually wanted to refer to Thamilselvan.

Azwer yesterday stated that President Mahinda Rajapaksa had looked after the wife and children of Vellupillai Prabakaran after the LTTE leader’s death.

It was widely reported in 2009 that the bodies of Prabakaran’s wife and children were found at the site of the final battle.
