Fire erupts at Hanthana reserve

A forest fire has erupted in the Hanthana forest reserve while flames are currently spreading across a vast area of land. The fire is believed to have broken out in 5th mile post, Hanthana.

Officers attached to the Disaster Management Center (DMC), police personnel and residents in the area attempting to control the fire, DMC Assistant Director Pradeep Kodippili stated.

The cause for the sudden fire is yet to be ascertained.
