VIDEO: Man killed after shootout with cops in Mt. Lavinia

A man was shot dead by police when he opened fire at a team of officers raiding a suspected drug den at Huludagoda Road in Mount Lavinia today. 

Acting on a tip-off, the Police Narcotics Bureau carried out the raid on a three-story building located    at Huludagoda Road when the suspected drug dealer had opened fire at the police officers. 

Police Narcotics Bureau officers had then returned fire killing the individual on the spot.

They had later searched the building and recovered a firearm, an army uniform and boots from one of the rooms, police said.
