Man held for manufacturing, selling weapons

A man who allegedly manufactured weapons at a workshop in the Ganegoda area in Ratgama and sold them has been arrested. The suspect was arrested by Ratgama Police, acting on information received.

Police also confiscated parts of a 12-bore gun found at the location.

According to information uncovered from the suspect, an individual who had purchased weapons from him has also been apprehended from Ranapanadeniya.

A 12-bore gun, a 25-inch long sword and a dagger found in the suspect’s possession were also seized by the police.

The arrested suspects are scheduled to be produced at the Galle Magistrate’s Court today.
