Suspect arrested with revolver and ammo

A suspect has been arrested for the possession of a foreign-manufactured revolver and ammunition in the Polathumodara area in Weligama, police said.
The 33-year-old man was arrested following a operation carried out according to information received by the Matara Division Crime Unit.
Police said a revolver, 8 locally-manufactured T56 bullets, nine 9mm bullets and 9 empty bullet shells.
The suspect, a resident of Kamburugamuwa, is to be produced before the Matara Magistrate’s Court today.
