UPDATE: 15 Major Generals and 3 Brigadiers transferred

Fifteen Major Generals and three Brigadiers of the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) have been transferred with immediate effect, army spokesman Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera told Ada Derana.

He said that the high-ranking army officers have been transferred as per the orders issued by Army Commander Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, on exigencies of the service.

Major General S.W Lalith Daulagala who was serving as the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) has been appointed as Director General Projects of the Army Headquarters after relinquishment of his office at SLAVF.

Similarly all references and postings of Major General J.C Rambukpotha which had been issued earlier, have been deleted.

Major General S.A.L Lal Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - East has been called to the Army Headquarters while Major General A.K Sumedha Perera is to relinquish his appointment as Director General General Staff at Army Headquarters and assume office as the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Central.

Major General H. Channa P Goonetilleke after relinquishing his duties as Director General General Staff at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff has been posted to be the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

Major General A. Mano Perera has been appointed as Director General Sports after relinquishing his office as the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Central.

Major General M.H.S Boniface Perera after relinquishing his duties as the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Wanni has been appointed as the Director General General Staff at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff.

Meanwhile, Major General Nandana Udawatta, currently the Master General Ordnance at the Army Headquarters has been appointed as the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna.

Major General G.D.H Kamal Gunaratne has been appointed as the Master General Ordnance at the Army Headquarters.

Major General N.U.M Mahesh W Senanayake has been appointed Military Secretary at the Army Headquarters after his recent reinstatement.

Major General N.J Walgama after relinquishment of his office at the Sapugaskanda Defence Services Command and Staff College has been appointed as the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - East.

Major General G.V.D Udaya A Perera relinquishes his appointment at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff and has been appointed as the Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College at Sapugaskanda.

Major General K. Jagath Alwis who relinquishes his office as the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna has been attached to the Army Headquarters.

Major General K.A.D Amal Karunasekara, Military Secretary of the Army Headquarters has been appointed as the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Wanni while, Major General B.A Perera after relinquishing as Director General Operations at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff has been re-appointed as the Director General General Staff at Army Headquarters.

Brigadier D.S Weerasekara, Director General Projects at Army Headquarters has been attached to the Army Headquarters upon relinquishment of his current office.

Meanwhile, the newly reinstated Brigadier D.C Keppetiwalana has been appointed as the new Director Operations at the Army Headquarters while Brigadier H.M Jayantha K Gunaratne after relinquishing his duties as Director Operations has been attached to the Army Headquarters.
