Basil at PRECIFAC over misuse of state property, funds

Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa today arrived at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (also known as PRECIFAC).
The former Minister of Economic Development was among several persons summoned today to record statements regarding the ongoing investigation into allegations of misusing state property and funds, a spokesman for the commission said.
Basil Rajapaksa has been accused of using helicopters belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) for private tours within the country and misusing Rs 155 million of funds allocated under the Gama Neguma projct.
The commission is to conduct hearings on the complaint on July 01 again.
