SLPP’s May Day rally at Galle Face Green - Basil

Former minister Basil Rajapaksa says that they have succeeded in securing the Galle Face Green in Colombo as the venue for the May Day rally of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
He stated that authorities in charge of the Galle Face Green had previously turned down their request to obtain the venue, however they had managed to secure it again due to the intervention of the Minister of Ports and Shipping.
He stated that the SLPP’s Labour Day celebrations will be held under the patronage of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and that several politicians representing the Tamil people will also attend the event.
