The prisoners of the Welikada Prison have volunteered to sacrifice their lunch for those affected by the floods.

Accordingly, sources reveal that all prisoners of the Welikada Prison will be donating their mid-day meal to the destitute today (30).

A decision has been made to provide 3000 more food parcels, in addition to the food donated by an estimate of 3000 prisoners.

The Ministry of Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs stated that the food parcels would be delivered to the affected families with the support of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).
