Three dead, 2 injured as car and motorcycle collide

At least 3 persons have been reported dead and another 2 injured after a car and motorcycle collided at Gonawala, Teldeniya.

Police said that a car traveling from Mahiyanganaya to Kandy had collided with a motorcycle before hitting another two women who were standing at a nearby bus stop and crashed into a wall. 

The two women were killed instantly while the motorcycle rider had succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the Teldeniya Hospital in critical condition. 

The driver of the car and another injured persons are currently receiving treatment at the Teldeniya Hospital. 

The accident had occurred at around 7.15 am this morning while police suspect that the driver of the car falling asleep on the wheel may have led to the fatal crash.
