Couple arrested with 3kg heroin at Kiribathgoda

Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) has arrested a married couple in Kiribathgoda area, while in possession of heroin, the police media spokesperson stated.

Along with the suspects, 3kg of heroin, worth nearly Rs 36 million has been taken into police custody.

Reportedly, the officials of the TID had apprehended 100 g of heroin while being transported in a three-wheeler at Iriyawetiya Road area in Kiribathgoda. The raid had been carried out based on a tip-off received by them.

Further investigations have led to the discovery of 03 more kilograms of heroin contained in three parcels at the home of the suspects.

The arrested suspects are of the ages 36 and 34, according to the Police.
