Passengers from Italy, S. Korea, Iran directed to quarantine facilities from today

Quarantining process of passengers arriving from countries where the spread of novel coronavirus is intense will commence from today (09).
The Batticaloa Private University and the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre have been converted into quarantine facilities for this purpose, stated Director-General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe.
Accordingly, all passengers from Italy, South Korea, and Iran will undergo mandatory 14-day quarantine at these two facilities from today onwards, he said.
Meanwhile, nearly 2,000 persons who had already arrived from overseas are currently being monitored, Jasinghe further said.
