Island-wide curfew will not obstruct essential services – Bandula

The island-wide curfew will not be extended to the functioning of essential services, says Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Bandula Gunawardana.
Addressing the press conference held at the Department of Government Information today (20), he said the curfew will not obstruct essential public services, especially health, security, private security and port services.
Minister Gunawardena added that notices will be issued on obtaining permits from the police for essential movements while the curfew is enforced.
As the curfew will be imposed during the weekend, the general public is advised to stay inside their respective houses and to engage in self-quarantining, the minister said stressed.
He also stated that Manning Market will reopen on Monday (23) morning.
