Another batch of Sri Lankans stranded overseas due to the COVID-19 pandemic has been brought back to the island today (24).

Accordingly, a SriLankan Airlines charter flight carrying a group of Sri Lankans from Bangladesh has landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 1.50 am this morning.

Reportedly, 276 Sri Lankans from Bangladesh have been repatriated in this manner.

All the passengers and their luggage have been decontaminated by Air Force personnel.

Health officers and security officers attached to the airport had measured the body temperature of the passengers and checked them for COVID-19 symptoms.

The repatriated Sri Lankans were then sent off to quarantine centres by the Sri Lanka Army personnel.
