Film Director Chandraratne Mapitigama’s daughter killed in car accident

A 41-year-old mother of three has been killed in a motor accident which happened on the Old Havelock Road in Wellawatta.

Two motor vehicles had collided with each other in front of a private company on the Old Havelock Road, Wellawatta at around 5.30 pm yesterday (14).

The accident has been recorded in a CCTV camera fixed in a nearby shop.

Following the accident, the driver of one vehicle had attempted to perform (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) CPR on his wife.

However, the female in question had died on the spot of the accident, according to hospital sources.

The deceased female is a mother of 3 by the name Sulakkhana Mapitigama residing in Gorakapitiya, Piliyandala.

The deceased has been identified as the daughter of veteran film director Chandraratna Mapitigama.

Reportedly, her body has been handed over to a private funeral house.
