Three more minor tremors have been experienced in the Digana area in Kandy last evening (November 05).

The incidents had occurred between 4 pm to 7 pm, stated the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB).

The tremors have been felt on seismometers at Victoria Reservoir.

However, all tremors have measured magnitudes less than 2 points on the Richter scale, GSMB said.

Meanwhile, another minor tremor, also of a magnitude less than 2 points on the Richter scale, was reported in Aluwatta, Digana, early morning yesterday.

Digana area has recorded nearly nine such incidents within the span of a month.

A committee of experts is looking into the minor tremors and had previously noted that these were not a result of limestone quarrying.
