Steps have been taken to introduce a special sticker for vehicles traveling for essential services during travel restrictions, Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said.

The sticker will be valid for the entire period for which the travel restrictions apply, the DIG said.

Accordingly, vehicles arriving in Colombo tomorrow (June 07) for essential services are required to provide their details to a particular point. However, this may cause delays, the police spokesperson noted.

The new system is introduced to prevent inconvenience to those traveling for essential services.

It is scheduled to be operational from tomorrow morning, DIG Rohana said.

More details regarding the program will be informed duly, the spokesperson added.
