Expenditure head of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs Ministry passed

The expenditure head of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs (207) has been passed in parliament by a majority of 39 votes on Wednesday (Dec.06).
It was taken up for debate in the House on Day 13 of the Committee State debate on the 2024 Appropriation Bill (2024 budget proposals).
Following the debate, All-Ceylon Tamil Congress MP G. G. Ponnambalam called for a division for the expenditure head of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.
During the division, 44 MPs voted in favour of the expenditure head while 5 MPs voted against.
