Three of same family killed, 2 injured in accident on Elpitiya–Aviththawa road

Three including two children from the same family have been killed in a head-on collision involving a three-wheeler and a lorry on the Elpitiya – Aviththawa main road. 

Police said that the deceased individuals include the 68-year-old driver of the three-wheeler, his 10-year-old grandson and his granddaughter, who was aged 07.

Meanwhile, the wife of the deceased person and another 18-year-old girl who sustained injuries in the accident, have been admitted to the hospital, according to police.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested in relation to the accident, while Elpitiya Police is conducting further investigations.
