Election Commission announcement on Presidential Poll date

The Election Commission of Sri Lanka say it will call for the nominations to hold the presidential election within the specified timeframe in terms of the provisions of the Constitution and the Presidential Elections Act, No. 15 of 1981. 

Issuing an announcement today (09), the Election Commission also said that by virtue of the powers vested in the commission to fix the date for the election, it will hold the presidential election between 17th September and 16th October 2024.
