Education Ministry denies reports of island-wide school closure

The Ministry of Education has refuted the reports circulating on social media claiming that all schools island-wide will be closed tomorrow (May 22).

“The Ministry of Education informs that the announcement circulating on social media that all schools in the island will be closed tomorrow is false.”

“Therefore, the Ministry of Education announces that all schools in the island will be open tomorrow (22),” it said, issuing a special notice today.

It further informs that the authority to make decisions based on the existing situation lies with the Provincial Education Secretaries and Provincial Education Directors.
