One dead, 8 injured as two buses collide head-on

One person has been reported dead, and several others were left injured following a head-on collision involving two buses in the Panliyadda area of Melsiripura last night (17).

Police stated that the accident occurred when a bus travelling from Colombo to Trincomalee collided head-on with a bus travelling from Batticaloa to Colombo.

At least 08 other individuals have been injured in the accident.

The driver of the bus which was travelling from Batticaloa to Colombo was killed in the accident.

Melsiripura Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
