Two dead after inhaling toxic chemical fumes in Malabe

Two persons have reportedly died after inhaling toxic fumes at a residence in the Kahanthota area in Malabe.

Police said that the deceased, aged 45 and 63 years and residents of Monaragala and Kahanthota, had died last evening (12) due to inhaling toxic fumes from certain chemicals they were trying to mix.

The two victim who were exposed to the toxic fumes were pronounced dead upon admission to the Colombo National Hospital, police said.

The bodies have been placed in the mortuary of the Colombo National Hospital while Malabe Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
