The derailment of a train between Colombo Fort and Maradana railway stations has delayed train services, according to the Railway Department.

It said that the engine of the Meenagaya Intercity Express Train plying from Batticaloa to Colombo Fort had derailed in this manner at around 7.00 a.m. this morning (15).

This has disrupted train services between Colombo Fort and Maradana.

Accordingly, train services on the main line and the coastal line could experience delays owing to this, Sri Lanka Railways said.
