The National People’s Power has won the Matara Municipal Council of the Matara District.
National People’s Power (NPP) – 19,682 (17 seats)
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) – 5,390 (4 seats)
Independent Group – 3,815 (3 seats)
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) –2,972 (2 seats)
Sri Lanka Communist Party (SLCP) – 1,942 (2 seats)
