Anudi Gunasekara of Sri Lanka has earned a prestigious place among the Top 20 finalists in the Multimedia Challenge at the 72nd Miss World Festival in Telangana, India.
This marks a historic achievement for Sri Lanka, as it is the first time the country has secured a spot in the Top 20 of three fast-track events: Talent, Head-to-Head Challenge, and Multimedia.
In the Asia and Oceania region, the Top 5 Multimedia finalists include contestants from New Zealand, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka.
The contestants of the 72nd Miss World Festival have proven themselves to be true influencers for good. With creativity, consistency, and positive messaging, they have used their platforms to share compelling stories, document their experiences, and highlight meaningful causes. Their journey in Telangana has showcased their resilience and dedication to making an impact.
Throughout the competition, their activities on Instagram, the official Miss World app, and their national Facebook pages were closely monitored — from their preparations at home to their remarkable experiences in Telangana. Selecting just five finalists from each continental region for the Multimedia Challenge was no easy task, given the high standard of content shared.
Now, these 20 finalists face one final challenge:
They must take on the role of reporters by creating a video that narrates the full story of their Miss World journey.
Participants may also feature interviews with fellow contestants, testimonials from other titleholders, and highlight special moments that have defined their Miss World experience.
This Multimedia Challenge not only celebrates the contestants’ digital storytelling abilities but also underscores the importance of authenticity, engagement, and influence in the modern pageantry landscape.
The final result of the Multimedia Challenge is expected this Friday (30).
Hyderabad is poised to host the Miss World 2025 Grand Finale on May 31, 2025, at the Hyderabad International Exhibition Centre (HITEX).
