Sri Lanka’s representative at the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant, Anudi Gunasekara, has concluded her journey at the prestigious international event without advancing to the Top 40 quarterfinalists, as announced during the grand finale held at the HITEX Convention Centre in Hyderabad, India, today (31).

While she did not move forward in the final stages of the competition, Gunasekara’s participation has been widely regarded as one of the most impactful representations by a Sri Lankan delegate in recent history.

Her performance in the lead-up to the finale garnered significant international attention. Most notably, she secured the position of First Runner-Up in the global Multimedia Challenge, the highest ranking ever achieved by a Sri Lankan in that segment.

In addition, her commendable performances in the Talent Showcase and Head-to-Head Challenge further demonstrated her dedication and all-rounded capabilities.

Beyond the competitive elements, Gunasekara was recognized for her ongoing work as a social activist, advocating for sustainable community development and youth empowerment in Sri Lanka. Her presence at Miss World 2025 highlighted not only personal excellence but also the values and cultural richness of the nation she proudly represented.

Though she did not advance to the Top 40, Anudi Gunasekara’s journey remains a significant milestone for Sri Lanka on the global stage.

Her poise, intellect, and commitment to humanitarian causes reflect the highest standards of representation and have earned widespread admiration both at home and abroad.

Sri Lanka commends Anudi Gunasekara for her exceptional dedication and for bringing honor to the nation through her participation at Miss World 2025.
