Two Indians arrested with 8kg of ‘Kush’ cannabis at BIA

Two Indian nationals have been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for attempting to smuggle around 8 kilograms and 220 grams of ‘Kush’ cannabis into the country.

The suspects were arrested last night (02) at the arrival terminal of the BIA, Ada Derana reporter said.

Officials of the Airport Unit of the Police Narcotics Bureau apprehended the suspects during two separate raids based on received intelligence.

During the operations, one suspect was arrested with 4 kilograms and 112 grams of Kush, while the other was apprehended with 4 kilograms and 108 grams, according to police.

The suspects are reported to be Indian nationals aged 38 and 47.

The Airport Unit of the Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations.
