‘Quazi court’ judge and wife arrested in Kalmunai for soliciting bribe

A ‘Quazi court’ judge in Kalmunai and his wife have been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) on allegations of soliciting a bribe.

The suspect was taken into custody at his office located in Maruthamunai, Kalmunai in the Ampara District.

Last month, the aggrieved party lodged a complaint with the Bribery Commission, stating that the suspect had demanded a bribe in order to resolve a legal matter.

Following the incident, the suspect and his wife were arrested yesterday (17) by the Bribery Commission on charges of accepting a bribe.
